Taipei Mission in Latvia participated in the “BALTTOUR 2017” international tourism exhibition

The Taipei Mission in the Republic of Latvia, in cooperation with the Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications of Taiwan, participated in the “BALTTOUR 2017” international tourism exhibition held at the Riga Kipsala International Exhibition Center  from February 3rd to February 5th.  Honorable Ainars Latkovskis, Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Group with Taiwan, and dozens of Latvian dignitaries in politics, business, academics as well as the media attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, presided by Representative Wu of the Taipei Mission.
In his remarks, Representative Wu introduced Taiwan’s rich and diversified tourism resources and emphasized that Taiwan has been named one of the top ten tourist destinations of 2017, according to the British website “Rough Guide’s". With more than 10 million tourists visited Taiwan in 2016, he encouraged friends from Latvia as well as other Baltic states to visit Taiwan so as to experience Taiwan’s beauty in person. Mr. Latkovskis also pointed out that Taiwan’s multicultural society, beautiful scenery, warm hospitality and tasty gourmet are extremely unforgettable, making Taiwan a truly worthy destination for Latvian tourists.
“BALTTOUR", as the leading international tourism exhibition in North and Eastern Europe, attracted participation from more than 100 travel agencies and business representatives from 38 countries from Europe, Asia and the Middle East, as well as Latvian municipalities. “Earth Travel”, a renowned travel agency from Taiwan also joined the Taiwan booth and introduced to visitors with different tour packages to Taiwan and established cooperative relations with its Latvian counterparts.
