MP Elżbieta Radziszewska, Deputy Speaker of the Polish Sejm, to lead a parliamentary delegation to Taiwan

MP Elżbieta Radziszewska, Deputy Speaker of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, will lead a six-member parliamentary delegation to Taiwan from August 8 to 13, 2015, at the invitation of the ROC Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The delegation will have an audience with President Ma Ying-jeou and attend luncheons hosted by ROC Legislator Pan Wei-kang and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Vanessa Y. P. Shih. The members will also call at the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Science and Technology, National Development Council, Mainland Affairs Council, Taiwan External Trade Development Council, Institute for Information Industry, and the Warsaw Trade Office in Taipei. In addition, the delegation will visit the National Palace Museum, Taipei 101, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Shilin Night Market, and Kenting National Park.

MP Radziszewska previously visited Taiwan as vice chairwoman of the Poland-Taiwan Parliamentary Group in 2002. This trip will provide the delegation a better understanding of Taiwan’s most recent political, economic, and social developments, thereby enhancing future bilateral relations.

Currently comprising 81 members, the Poland-Taiwan Parliamentary Group is the largest bilateral friendship group in the Sejm. Since its establishment in 1998, the group has staunchly supported the deepening of substantive exchanges and joint cooperation between Poland and Taiwan. (E)
