ROC, India sign air services agreement, MOU on agricultural cooperation

The Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Republic of India signed an air services agreement, as well as an MOU on agricultural cooperation, on September 12 at the ROC Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Taipei.

Consistent with the ROC government’s New Southbound Policy, the accords will open a new chapter in aviation, tourism, and agricultural cooperation between Taiwan and India. In addition, the ROC government looks forward to deepening its partnership with the Indian government in such areas as trade, education, culture, and science and technology.

At the ceremony, the ROC and Indian governments were respectively represented by Representative Tien Chung-kwang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India and Director General Sridharan Madhusudhanan of the India-Taipei Association. Also in attendance were officials from the ROC Ministry of Transportation and Communications and Council of Agriculture, as well as staff of the India-Taipei Association. (E)
