A four-member delegation from Greece led by Member of Parliament Symeon Kedikoglou is visiting the Republic of China (Taiwan) from June 19 to 24 at the invitation of the ROC government.

This visit aims to give the delegation members a better understanding of recent developments in Taiwan’s political arena, economy, and society, and promote Greek agricultural products and industrial and innovative enterprises, as well as bilateral tourism.

The delegation members will call at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Tourism Bureau, and the Taoyuan District Agricultural Research and Extension Station of the Council of Agriculture. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs François Chih-Chung Wu will also host a reception to welcome them. In addition, the members will attend the 2017 Taipei International Food Show, visit local tourism associations, and meet with green energy and precision machinery enterprises. They will also visit sites of cultural and economic interest, such as the National Palace Museum and Taipei 101.

MP Kedikoglou, a member of the Standing Committee on National Defense and Foreign Affairs, represents Evia, Greece’s second largest island, which has been actively promoting tourism in recent years and is rich in agricultural and mineral resources. Other members of the delegation include Mr. Giorgos Kelaiditis, a consultant to Evia Regional Unit of the Central Greece Region. (E)
