Privileges and Immunities for Diplomatic Missions and Foreign Offices

In accordance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations 1961, the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations 1963, bilateral agreements, international practices, principles of reciprocity, as well as rules, regulations and practices of the Republic of China (Taiwan), privileges and immunities are provided for staff members of Diplomatic Missions and Foreign Offices (DMFO) to ensure the efficient performance and function of their duty.

 

This guide aims to assist staff members of DMFO with information regarding various applications for the foresaid privileges. For issues that are not addressed in this guide, DMFO are encouraged to contact the Privilege Section of the Department of Protocol.
