A five-member delegation led by Waldemar Andzel, deputy chairman of the Polish-Taiwanese Parliamentarian Group, will visit Taiwan from December 6 to 10, 2016, at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan).

The delegation aims to gain a better understanding of recent political, economic and social developments taking place in Taiwan, as well as enhance bilateral parliamentary exchanges, thereby advancing cooperation between Taiwan and Poland.

During their visit, the members of the delegation will meet with President of the Legislative Yuan Su Jia-chyuan and call at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Science and Technology, Hsinchu Science Park, the Industrial Technology Research Institute and the Koo Foundation Sun Yat-Sen Cancer Center, as well as attend a reception hosted in their honor by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Leo Chen-jan Lee. They will also visit sites of cultural and economic interest such as the National Palace Museum, Taipei 101 and Shilin Night Market, and make a trip to Kinmen.

Taiwan and Poland maintain a close and cordial relationship. In recent years, the two countries have signed agreements and MOUs on such areas as youth cultural and educational exchange, air transport, pharmaceutical products and medical devices, mutual recognition of driver’s licenses, and the avoidance of double taxation. The delegation’s visit will further strengthen the development of mutually beneficial bilateral exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
