U.S. Democratic National Committee will visit Taiwan from November 17 through 23
A ten-member delegation of U.S. Democratic National Committee will visit Taiwan from November 17 through 23, for a one-week visit. The purpose of their visit is to have an informative views focusing on the issues of cross-Strait relations, Mainland China policies, domestic economic developments and the strategy for the trend toward globalization.
Delegation members are composed by important committee members including Asian and African members as well as woman and aboriginal representatives. They are not only taking active part in party affairs but also have influence over state, congressional and presidential elections.
They will call on National Defense Ministry, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Mainland Affairs Council of Executive Yuan, Council for Economic Planning and Development of Executive Yuan, political parties and visit the economic and cultural establishments. They will also attend a luncheon hosted by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Michael Kau.(E)
