The issuing of ID cards for staff members, family members and service staff is based on rules set forth in “Guidelines for Issuance of Identification Cards to Diplomatic Missions and Foreign Offices.”

NOTE:

STAFF MEMBERS refer to foreign diplomats and officials assigned by the sending state.

FAMILY MEMBERS refer to members of families forming part of households of staff members, including spouses, children under 20, parents and parent-in-laws.

SERVICE STAFF refers to staff assigned by the sending state to serve and assist DMFO heads.


Foreign private servants hired locally by staff members of DMFO are not entitled to register for ID cards in the Department of Protocol. Their application for the Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) should be submitted to the National Immigration Agency .

 
There are 5 types of ID cards issued by the Department of Protocol:
A. Diplomatic Mission ID: Issued to Diplomatic Mission staff members and their family members.
B. Foreign Office ID: Issued to Foreign Office staff members and their family members.
C. International Organization ID: Issued to members of international organizations and their family members.
D. Diplomatic Mission Service Staff ID: Issued to staff serving and assisting the Diplomatic Mission head.
E. Foreign Office Service Staff ID: Issued to staff serving and assisting the Foreign Office head.
