Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Swaziland Paul Dlamini will lead an eight-member delegation to Taiwan to participate in the 104th National Day celebrations of the Republic of China from October 7 to 11, 2015.
Deputy Prime Minister Dlamini will call on President Ma Ying-jeou and call at the Legislative Yuan. He will also visit the Embassy of the Kingdom of Swaziland, the Changhua Nursing Home of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families, and National Taipei University of Technology. In addition, the delegation will take excursions to Sun Moon Lake, Syntrend Creative Park, and Taipei 101. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Simon S. Y. Ko will host a luncheon to welcome the delegation, providing them the opportunity to exchange views on Taiwan-Swaziland relations.
This visit, Deputy Prime Minister Dalmini’s second to the Republic of China, will give him a better understanding of the current developments in Taiwan’s political arena, social welfare system, and urbanization, thereby further advancing bilateral cooperation.
The Kingdom of Swaziland and the Republic of China have been staunch allies since 1968, enjoying frequent mutual visits between senior officials. Over the years, the Swazi government has firmly supported Taiwan’s efforts to achieve meaningful participation in United Nations-related organizations and mechanisms, such as the World Health Assembly, the International Civil Aviation Organization, and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
