Vice Minister Miguel Lijey Tsao hosted the Opening Ceremony for the Training Program for the Newly Recruited Diplomatic (G52) and Administrative (G16) Personnel at the Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs (IDIA) on January 21, 2019. The ceremony was also graced by the presence of Ms. Pei-chih Hao, Deputy Minister of the Civil Service Protection and Training Commission, Examination Yuan, Mr. Roy Y. R. Leu, Vice Minister of the Overseas Community Affairs Council and senior officals from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Vice Minister Tsao encouraged the newly recruits to cultivate strong senses of loyalty, obedience, virtue, work effiency, as well as communication skills and commitment as foreign service officers. In the face of future challenges, it’s particularly important to keep up the enthusiasm for the career and the country. Both guests congradulated the trainees on passing the highly competitivenational exam, while looking forward to seeing their transformation into well-equipped professionals after the 6-month training program.
