A 10-member delegation from the Berlin House of Representatives, led by Representative Christian Gräff, is visiting Taiwan from December 4 to 8 at the invitation of the Republic of China (Taiwan) government, giving them an opportunity to experience firsthand Taiwan’s political and economic developments, as well as its relations with mainland China.

The delegation will call on the National Development Council, the Mainland Affairs Council, the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Department of International Cooperation, Taichung City government, the German Institute Taipei, and the German Trade Office Taipei, as well as attend a reception held in their honor by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Their itinerary also includes sites of cultural and economic interest, including the Industrial Technology Research Institute, the Institute for Information Industry, the National Palace Museum, Taipei 101, and a television network.

This visit by a delegation from the capital and political center of Germany will help enhance communication between Taiwan’s representative offices in Germany and the state of Berlin, which will further deepen bilateral relations between Germany and Taiwan.

A member of the Christian Democratic Union, Representative Christian Gräff is the spokesperson for economic policy for the CDU caucus, and the chairman of the Berlin branch of the CDU’s small and medium-sized business association. The delegation also includes five other members of the Berlin House of Representatives—from the CDU and the Free Democratic Party—as well as the editor-in-chief of the magazine Wirtschaft+Markt, and three caucus and borough assembly officials.
