MP Konstantinos Koukodimos leads 11-member Greek delegation visiting Taiwan

Mr. Konstantinos Koukodimos, Member of the Hellenic Parliament, is leading a delegation from Greece visiting Taiwan from June 24 to 29 at the invitation of the Republic of China (Taiwan) government. Mr. Koukodimos is accompanied by Evangelos Lagdaris, Mayor of Pydna-Kolindros municipality in the Pieria region, and Ilias Chatzichristodoulou, head of the Chamber of Commerce of Pieria. The delegation also includes representatives of enterprises based in the region.

The trip will give the delegation members a better understanding of recent developments in Taiwans political arena, economy, and society, and promote bilateral economic and trade exchanges and cooperation. The visitors will call on Legislative Yuan Vice President Tsai Chi-Chang and Legislator Tsai Shih-Ying. They will also call at the Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association, the Importers and Exporters Association of Taipei, and the Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will host a reception to welcome the delegation. In addition, the members will attend the 2018 Taipei International Food Show and the 2018 Taipei International Packaging Industry Show, and meet with enterprises in Taiwans green energy, textile, electric vehicle, and restaurant equipment industries to seek new business opportunities with them.

Mr. Koukodimos, Member of the Hellenic Parliaments Standing Committee on National Defense and Foreign Affairs, has actively promoted Taiwan-Greece relations. He represents Pieria, a regional unit in northern Greece rich in agricultural products. The delegation, mainly political leaders and business representatives from Pieria, look forward to further strengthening interaction and friendship with Taiwan in their respective fields. (E)
